The family of Cristiano Ronaldo expresses gratitude to Liverpool supporters for their support of the Man United star.

During the Premier League match between Manchester United and Liverpool FC at Anfield, fans of both teams showed their support for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Because of the tragic death of their baby son, Cristiano Ronaldo's family wishes to express their gratitude to Liverpool fans for their outpouring of support for the Manchester United star and his partner.

Following the announcement on Monday evening by Ronaldo and his girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez, that their new-born son had died, Ronaldo withdrew from the match at Anfield on Tuesday night due to compassionate reasons. In the seventh minute of the match, both Manchester United and Liverpool fans showed their appreciation for the Portuguese forward by joining together in an impeccably-respected minute of applause for the player.

A rendition of the club song "You'll Never Walk Alone" was also sung by Liverpool fans as a show of solidarity following the terrible incident.

After the game, Ronaldo's sister, Elma, shared footage of the emotional event on social media, along with the message: "Thank you Liverpool for this." 'What you did today will remain etched in our memories forever.'

The video was posted on social media by Katia, one of the siblings, who used the caption: "Way beyond football." Dolores Aveiro, Ronaldo's mother, turned to Instagram to send a message of her own, in which she begged God for assistance at this difficult moment for her son.

Dolores commented on her Instagram in Portuguese, using a well-known Bible passage, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and rely not on your own understanding. Recognize Him in all you do, and He will direct your paths."

When asked about the applause after the game, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said it was the'moment of the game' in which his team triumphed 4-0.

During his post-match news conference, Klopp stated that his favorite moment of the game occurred in the seventh minute, when "the entire crowd displayed pure class." "There are a plethora of things in life that are far more important than football. Cristiano and his family are in our thoughts and prayers."
