Rangnick will offer the 19-year-old more opportunities this season, according to a former Red Devil.

After getting thrashed 4-0 by Liverpool on Tuesday night, it's reasonable to assume that Manchester United didn't come away with many positives from their trip to Anfield Stadium.

Against their bitter rivals, Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool put on a clinic, scoring four goals, three of which came from Luis Diaz, one from Sadio Mane, and two from Mo Salah. Manchester United's evening couldn't have gone much worse.

Although few United supporters expected the Red Devils to come away with a victory, even fewer expected such a lacklustre display from their team.

Ralf Rangnick, the interim manager, would have been relieved when referee Martin Atkinson blew the final whistle, despite his team finishing second in every department all night.

After about 80 minutes, academy graduate Hannibal Mejbri was given his first-team debut despite the stunning nature of Tuesday's performance.

Despite the fact that he was only permitted a 10-minute period of activity, the Tunisia international lost no time in placing himself in danger.

At just 19, it's safe to say that the physicality of the 19-year-old, as well as his clear desire to get possession of the ball back, provided something to cheer about for the crowd.

Luke Chadwick, a former Manchester United midfielder who spoke exclusively to CaughtOffside about Hannibal's season ahead, said: "Hannibal is a tremendously skilled player." I wouldn't be surprised if we saw more of him because he is an extremely talented player.

Tuesday night's scariest thing was that when he came in, clearly wanting to make an impact, that was the only time we saw that type of desire all night.

To play away at Anfield was a huge challenge and a huge rivalry; it just took the young boy going on to make it look like that because otherwise Liverpool were just doing as they liked."

He covered a lot of ground in the time he was on the field." While some of his tackles weren't perfect, at least he was getting near to Liverpool's players," he said.
