Manchester United's expected starting lineup against Chelsea, with Marcus Rashford set to return

Old Trafford will host Chelsea on Thursday night as Manchester United return to action following their international break. Tuchel's team is preparing for the FA Cup final and has all but secured Champions League qualification for the season's conclusion.

Interim manager Ralf Rangnick said after the 3-1 loss to Arsenal that a top-four finish is out of reach for Manchester United.

Since neither team has much on the line other than pride, this United team is unlikely to put in a good showing based on recent results.

Ajax coach Erik ten Hag will take over in the summer and will be closely monitoring the situation at Old Trafford, where some players are fighting for their futures.

Harry Maguire and Jadon Sancho have both been ruled out of the match against Chelsea, according to manager Christoph Rangnick.

Against Arsenal last week, Maguire was benched, and there are now doubts as to whether or not he will play again this season. Rashford is expected to be recalled as a result of Sancho's absence.

Rangnick could use the game to give some of his younger players a chance to shine, especially after Hannibal Mejbri made his season debut against Anfield earlier this month.

When it comes to the senior group, he tends to stick with the tried-and-true players even if many of them will be departing this summer.

Predicted Manchester United XI: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka; Lindelof; Varane; Matic, McTominay; Elanga, Fernandes, Rashford; Ronaldo
