There are two young players in the Manchester United matchday squad for the game against Brentford. Alejandro Garnacho and Alvaro Fernandez are both young players.
Young players Fernandez and Garnacho both played for the U23s against Liverpool on Saturday and will be available for selection for United on Monday night. Fernandez set up Garnacho for the only goal of the game. With 20 minutes to go, both Garnacho and Fernandez were taken off the field.
In last week's game against Chelsea, Garnacho made his debut for Manchester United in a cameo role. Fernandez hasn't played in a game for the club as an adult. Four teenagers were on the bench for United when they drew with Chelsea, but Hannibal Mejbri and Shola Shoretire, who were both named on the bench in midweek, were not with the United squad when they met at the Hyatt Hotel on Monday afternoon before the game.
