Ten Hag believes Rashford will make England's World Cup squad despite his injury.

Despite a recent injury setback at Manchester United, Erik ten Hag is optimistic that Marcus Rashford will be selected for England's World Cup roster.

An injury to Rashford's ankle has been reported.

Ten Hag is moving backward and forward continuously.

After the international break, it is likely that they will return.

WHAT CAME TO PASS? Rashford has gotten off to a strong start in the 2022-23 season for Manchester United under the club's new management. He has made six appearances and has scored three goals, including a brace against Arsenal. However, it now appears that Gareth Southgate will not be able to use him for the forthcoming Nations League matches against Italy and Germany since he is suffering from an ankle injury. Ten Hag has stated that he will be absent for United's next match in the Europa League; nonetheless, he is optimistic that a valued asset won't be sidelined for "too long" and still anticipates that the player will present a compelling argument for selection to the World Cup.

WHAT THEY HAD TO SAY: "He's not accessible. As a direct result of his performance at Arsenal, he sustained a muscle issue "before of the Red Devils' trip to Sheriff Tiraspol, the Dutch tactician revealed. "No, I do not believe that his absence will be for an excessively long period of time, but I am unable to say how long. It's not that big of a deal, and we anticipate him being back with the squad in really short order."

Ten Hag responded with the following when questioned about Rashford's prospects of reaching England's World Cup squad: "It's fairly evident and quite clear (he can). He had some pretty strong seasons of football, and this season has been a really strong comeback for him. He has demonstrated the immense potential and quality he possesses."

IN THE BIGGER PICTURE, Rashford was sidelined with the same ailment and missed United's match against Real Sociedad on the opening night of the Europa League last week. In spite of the absence of the 24-year-old striker, Ten Hag still has a wealth of attacking alternatives available to him. Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to resume his role as the team's primary goal scorer, and summer acquisition Antony may be used in a supporting role on the right wing.
