Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was dismissed from his position as manager of Manchester United in November 2021, after having served the club for nearly three years. Despite the manner in which his tenure at the club came to an end, he is still well-liked at Old Trafford.
Solskjaer was initially replaced on an interim basis by Ralf Rangnick. However, Solskjaer was eventually succeeded by Erik ten Hag, who was formerly the manager of Ajax, and the Dutchman is continuing to make the United squad his own. Solskjaer did, however, extend an invitation to play to a significant number of members of the first-team squad
It's possible that this shouldn't come as much of a surprise given that Solskjaer was still in charge a year ago, but Ten Hag and his coaching staff have already decided that some of the players brought in by the Norwegian are no longer necessary for the team's success.
The following is a list of the 14 permanent signings that Solskjaer made while he was in charge, along with the current teams that they play for.
The Bishop, Nathan
Haaland and Ruud are inspiring their compatriot Terland ahead of the upcoming WSL season of football.
Elisabeth Terland, the new striker for Brighton, has stated that she is drawing motivation from the achievements of her fellow Norwegians.
Southend's signature appears below, dated January 2020. (undisclosed fee)
Bishop, a player who has the potential to go unnoticed otherwise, was one of the players picked up by Solskjaer in order to build for the future. He had a successful loan spell with League Two side Mansfield last season, during which he played 53 games, and he has been kept in-house this season to see how he performs in Premier League 2, where he is currently playing.
Cavani Edinson, Edinson
The contract was signed in October of 2020 by PSG (free transfer)
Valencia purchased it in August of 2022. (free transfer)
For the Uruguayan veteran, his time spent at United turned out to be a period of mixed emotions. Even in his later years, his electrifying displays at Old Trafford won over the hearts of the diehard fans who frequent the stadium. However, the 35-year-old player was hardly seen in action during the previous season, and his popularity waned as a result of injury problems and the never-ending rumors linking him with moves away from the club.
Amad
Atalanta club official announcement: January 2021 (up to €40 million)
Amad dazzled in his first weeks at United, but his development stalled out during the previous season, and things did not go exactly as planned for him while he was on loan with Rangers. This was another signing that was made with an eye toward the future. This summer, Sunderland prevailed in the competition to acquire his services, and as a result, he will play in the Championship this season.
Bruno Fernandes
January 2020 transfer from Sporting Lisbon (for a fee of £56.7 million)
When it comes to Solskjaer's recruits, she is possibly the most valuable asset. Fernandes was a force to be reckoned with in the Premier League, and his statistics for Manchester United (51 goals and 40 assists in 134 games played) are extremely impressive. Although he may not have been at his very best during the previous campaign, there were extenuating circumstances, and the sensation from Portugal has been an important figure ever since Ten Hag took over as head coach.
Mr. Tom Heaton
July 2021, from Aston Villa, where the contract was signed (free transfer)
It was a special moment for both the club and for Heaton when he returned to the United system last summer and eventually made his debut at the age of 35. Heaton had been raised in the United system. As long as Dean Henderson is away on loan, he will continue to compete for the third goalkeeping spot behind David de Gea and Martin Dubravka.
Daniel James
July 2019 from Swansea (£16 million) signed on the dotted line.
Leeds purchased the team in August of 2021 for £26 million.
James was never quite able to reach the level of greatness expected of him, despite the fact that he is still a good player overall. The Wales speedster was sold to Leeds after appearing in only 74 games and contributing to only 18 direct goals. Since then, he has moved to Fulham on loan after being sold to Leeds.

The name Harry Maguire
August 2019 from Leicester; £78.3 million was paid out for the signing.
During Solskjaer's first summer as manager, the club made a number of significant acquisitions, with Maguire serving as the highlight. The England defender is still the club captain, but he is going to have a tough time getting back into the United team given how well Raphael Varane and the new signing Lisandro Martinez have played together this season.
Cristiano Ronaldo
August of 2021, from Juventus, for a fee of 13.5 million pounds
An illustrious superstar who, due to his immense standing in the game, does not require any sort of introduction at this point. It appeared as though his second coming at Old Trafford might be brought to a premature end, but continuous speculation failed to bring firm offers, and Cristiano Ronaldo is still a part of the plan moving forward. On Thursday night, he scored a goal for Sporting, United, Real Madrid, and Juventus combined, making it his 699th goal overall. The goal was against Sheriff.
Facundo Pellistri
Penarol has committed to the deal, and it is worth 7.65 million pounds.
In a comparable position to Amad, but without the prohibitively high price tag. Pellistri's two loan stints with La Liga club Alaves spanned a period of 18 months, during which he experienced a variety of outcomes, but he continues to be a bit player for United this year.
Jadon Sancho
Transferred in July 2021 from Borussia Dortmund for a fee of 72.9 million pounds.
After trying to sign Sancho for the previous four years, Solskjaer was successful in doing so last summer for a fee of 72.9 million pounds. Even though he got off to a slow start and a lot was expected of him after his incredible tally with the German side (50 goals and 64 assists in 137 appearances), the 22-year-old is starting to look like a United player more and more.

Alex Telles
October 2020, from FC Porto (£13.5 million), signed as a free agent.
Telles was brought in to provide competition for Luke Shaw at left back, but in the end, it was the England international who maintained his position as the primary option. Ten Hag did not have a need for the Brazilian, 29, after Tyrell Malacia arrived at the club this summer. As a result, the Brazilian is currently on loan to Sevilla in Spain, where he has made six early-season appearances.
Donny van de Beek
Ajax have committed £35 million to bring him on board in September 2020.
After spending £35 million to secure the Netherlands midfielder's signature, Solskjaer's usage of the player was so infrequent that it bordered on being inexplicable. However, even after Ten Hag was appointed, the former Ajax playmaker has been unable to pin down a regular place, and once he recovers from his injury, he will face yet another uphill battle this season.
Raphael Varane
Real Madrid paid £34 million to have him join their team in August of 2021.
As a result of injuries, he was only able to make 29 appearances during his first season with United, and the club sorely missed having their elegant World Cup champion when he was unavailable. Since Ten Hag took over as manager, the significance of Varane and his role in the team has already been brought to light. The former Real defender has formed an excellent partnership with Martinez, which has pushed Maguire and others to the periphery of the defense.
