Cristiano Ronaldo's Man Utd retirement date confirmed

Dolores Aveiro, Cristiano Ronaldo's mother, has once more expressed her desire for the family to move back to Lisbon. Ronaldo has not changed his mind about leaving Manchester United, and Dolores Aveiro has not changed hers.

Cristiano Ronaldo's mum says he plans to quit Manchester United.

Dolores Aveiro, the mother of Cristiano Ronaldo, has spoken out about her son's desire to retire and his impending departure from Manchester United. Dolores Aveiro also confirmed Ronaldo's plans to quit the club.

Ronaldo, who is 37 years old, stated earlier this month that he intends to continue his "adventure" at the very highest level. The forward wanted to leave the Red Devils this summer after just one season back at United following his high-profile return from Juventus last year, but this ambition was not realized as he remained at Old Trafford. The forward's return to United was highly publicized last year after he spent the previous year playing for Juventus.

Every member of the Manchester United squad had a 25 percent pay cut after the club was unable to qualify for the Champions League. This resulted in Ronaldo's income being reduced, which left him "upset." Ronaldo's pay was reduced along with the rest of the squad's compensation. However, he was unable to arrange an exit because no club was willing to satisfy his wage demands and guarantee him regular football. Consequently, he remained stuck in his current position.

Dolores has confirmed to Nova Genta that there are plans to return the Portugal international to Sporting CP, the first club of his senior career and the place where he developed prior to joining United for the first time in 2003. Dolores made this confirmation while speaking to Nova Genta.

The explanation was given by Ronaldo's mother: "This year was not the year for it, but next year might be. This year or next year, this will happen, God willing! I have already explained to him, "Son, before I die I want to see him in the Sporting shirt once again." It is possible for him to return to Sporting, but not right now. This year was not the year for it, but next year might be.

"In the event that Ronaldo is unable to attend, his son Cristianinho will represent the family. That is what will happen to him. At this point in his life, he already outplays his own father! Cristianinho is the player who will take over for Cristiano. If they both went to Lisbon and played for Sporting, that would be my dream scenario. He has already stated that he wants to live there and play for the team.

"If the hopes of a mother and grandmother are granted, then one of her offspring will very soon become a member of the Sporting club," said the mother and grandmother.

When pressed further on Cristiano's intentions regarding his retirement, his mother continued, "He has a strong desire to continue and to keep playing until he is 40." This would take the striker up to the end of the 2024/25 campaign, which would signal 23 seasons at the highest level of football.

When asked about his plans for the future earlier this month at the Quinas de Ouro awards, Ronaldo said, "I hope to continue being part of the Portuguese international setup for a few more years. I feel motivated, my ambition is high. I am in a team with young people, I want to be in the World Cup but also in the next European Championships." Ronaldo made these remarks in Portuguese.

Ronaldo and his mum enjoy a good bond.

The Portuguese superstar continued, "I would like to say that my journey has not yet come to an end. There is still a little bit more of Cristiano left. I am proud to receive an award of such magnitude. I never thought I could achieve it. It has been a long road but I would like to say that there is still a little bit more of Cristiano left."

Ronaldo, who isn't getting regular football at United at the moment, had been looking ahead to the January transfer window. However, Red Devils football director John Murtough poured cold water on the idea that there will be first-team movements in or out of the club this winter, suggesting that the forward won't be going anywhere. Ronaldo isn't getting regular football at United at the moment.

Ronaldo has amassed 699 goals in club football and a total of 816 goals during his professional career. He is still determined to add to the 31 major honors he has earned over the course of his 20 years playing football.
