Manchester United will evaluate six injured players before playing Man City.

Marcus Rashford has not played in almost four weeks, while Anthony Martial has only appeared for a total of 45 minutes in the last two months.

They haven't started together since preseason.

Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial of Manchester United could both be sidelined for this weekend's derby match against City.

Rashford and Martial did not take part in any of this week's early training sessions, and Martial has only played for a total of 45 minutes in the last two months as a result of hamstring and Achilles problems. Since the 25th of August, the Frenchman has not gone through an entire training session.

Rashford has not participated in any training since the 4th of September, when he suffered a muscle injury during the 3-1 victory over Arsenal.

Both of them were absent for United's games in the Europa League against Real Sociedad and FC Sheriff, and Anthony Martial has not started for United since the month of November.

At the pre-match press conference that United manager Erik ten Hag will hold on Friday afternoon, it is anticipated that he will provide updates regarding Rashford and Martial.

On Saturday, Ten Hag would conduct an additional training session in order to give players who are having issues the opportunity to demonstrate that they are fit. Harry Kane, the captain of the England football team, stated that Harry Maguire "played another five, 10 minutes, on almost one leg" during England's 3-3 draw with Germany on Monday night.

It is extremely unlikely that Maguire will start even if he is fit because he has been on the bench for five of United's last six games and has not started in the league since the 4-0 thrashing at Brentford on August 13. Maguire has not started in the league since the 4-0 thrashing at Brentford on August 13.

While defensive partner Lisandro Martinez only played 12 minutes in Argentina's friendly win over Jamaica in New Jersey in the middle of the week, Raphael Varane was an unused substitute in France's Nations League loss to Denmark on Sunday and has trained with United this week.

Due to an injury of unknown nature, Donny van de Beek has not participated in any of United's training sessions this week and has been left out of the club's matchday squads for the past three games. Both Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Martin Dubravka have been sidelined for the team's last four matches, and Dubravka did not make the trip to Moldova for the victory over Sheriff.

In the event that Rashford is unable to play, Ten Hag may elect to start the same lineup that prevailed against Sheriff in United's most recent match, which took place more than two weeks ago.

De Gea, Heaton, Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Maguire, Lindelof, Malacia, Shaw, McTominay, Eriksen, Casemiro, Fred, Iqbal, Fernandes, Antony, Elanga, Sancho, Garnacho, and Ronaldo are some of the players who could start for United against City.
