Cristiano Ronaldo "would not accept" FA charge after furious encounter with autistic adolescent

After being reprimanded by police over the incident, Cristiano Ronaldo was later charged with improper conduct by the Football Association (FA) for what appeared to be an angry smashing to the ground of an autistic boy's phone after Manchester United's loss to Everton last seas

Cristiano Ronaldo is contesting the improper conduct charge that he was given by the FA for allegedly knocking a fan's mobile phone out of their hand while they were watching him play for Everton.

In April, a video was taken of a Manchester United player making his way back to the locker room after the Reds were defeated by Everton at Goodison Park. In the video, the player can be seen appearing to slap the phone out of the hand of an Everton fan. On April 9, Ronaldo issued an apology to the young supporter and was issued a caution by the police for his involvement in the incident, which resulted in the caution.

The FA accused him of breaking rule E3, which pertains to inappropriate or violent behavior, and charged him with the offense. The legendary player from Portugal had until Monday to respond to the charge brought against him by the FA, and United manager Erik ten Hag has stated that he will contest the charge.

At the press conference that Ten Hag held on Wednesday to preview the Europa League match against Omonia Nicosia at Old Trafford on Thursday, he was asked about Ronaldo's reaction to the charge, and he responded by saying, "We talked about that, he will not accept it."

Ronaldo, who is 37 years old, believes that there were extenuating circumstances that led to his outburst. He alluded to this fact when he publicly apologized for his behavior on Instagram. He wrote that it was "never easy to deal with emotions in difficult moments such as the one we are facing," and I agree with him.

In addition, Ronaldo stated, "However, we always need to be respectful, patient, and set the example for all of the young people who love the beautiful game."

"I would like to apologize for my outburst, and if it is at all possible, I would like to invite this supporter to watch a game at Old Trafford as a sign of fair play and sportsmanship," the player said.

The case involving Ronaldo will now proceed to a hearing, during which witnesses will be given the opportunity to submit written evidence.

In an interview with the Daily Mirror in August, the mother of the boy, Sarah Kelly, described how she was reduced to tears after Ronaldo phoned her and promised to fight any legal case. Ronaldo admitted his guilt to the charges of assault and criminal damage and accepted a caution from the police. She stated that he had been ordered to pay £200, but that due to the ticking off, he "has got away with it."

After the assault, Sarah, from Merseyside, provided a statement to the police. In her words, she said the following: "The phone rang again, and a man said, 'Hello this is Cristiano Ronaldo.'"

Ronaldo has been charged but will fight it.

"He inquired as to whether or not I would be interested in going down to meet his family. He said, 'I'm not a bad dad.' I said to him, 'I never said you were a bad dad.' He explained, "I had a horrible upbringing, and I lost my father." I told him, "Everybody has a sad story, Ronaldo. I lost my father when I was young, and I've had cancer."

"He kept calling me Jack even though he didn't even know my name, and when I said, "My name is Sarah," he apologized and said, "Oh, Sarah." Also, he never referred to Jacob by his name; instead, he always referred to him as "the boy." He stated, "I am aware that the young man has some issues." I responded by telling him, "He isn't having a problem, he has a disability; you are the one who is having a problem."

"He apologized by saying, "I'm sorry," but then he continued by saying, "I haven't done anything wrong." He claimed that he had not "kicked, killed, or punched anybody," as the expression goes. That stoked the flames of my ire, and I exploded with rage. My heart was racing, and I yelled at him, "So you smacking my son's hand and bruising it is not hurting anybody?"

"He stated that I do not want it to be made public in any form of media, including the press and the court," He claimed that he had an experienced legal team, that he was going to win, and that he was going to fight me all the way. He claimed that he was familiar with how to manipulate the media.
