During the summer transfer window, Manchester United showed interest in making a bid for the forward who formerly played for West Ham and Stoke.
According to reports from Marko Arnautovic's agent, the player turned down the opportunity to move to Manchester United's Old Trafford stadium on his own rather than the club backing out of the deal.
The Reds were rumored to be interested in making a surprising move for the forward who previously played for West Ham and Stoke City during the summer transfer window. According to reports, United had a bid for the 33-year-old player that was worth £7.5 million rejected by Bologna.
Because United's interest in the player was met with widespread criticism from both former players and supporters, the Reds decided to pull out of their pursuit of the Austrian forward.
However, the player's agent, Tiziano Pasquali, has claimed that it was his client who turned down the move to Old Trafford because he wanted to stay in Italy. Pasquali also claims that Juventus were interested in the forward and were competing with Manchester United for his services.
According to Pasquali's conversation with Gianluca di Marzio, "Yes, Juventus and Manchester United had expressed interest." "We had received a written proposal from the English, and the negotiations had continued even after some contrary opinions were voiced by their fans.
"But in the end, it was Marko who decided to stay in Bologna rather than dragging it out for an excessively long time. How could you possibly believe that he is currently going through a rough patch?"
Arnautovic had a successful season in Italy with Bologna, where he played the previous year, scoring 14 goals. Arnautovic left the Premier League in 2019 to pursue opportunities in China. The interest shown by United in the player occurred before Antony made the move from Ajax, and it occurred at a time when Cristiano Ronaldo was attempting to leave United in order to play in the Champions League.
In spite of this, Erik ten Hag's attacking players have gotten off to an encouraging start to the new season. Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and Antony have all been performing well over the past few weeks.
Arnautovic, meanwhile, has been extremely productive for Bologna, as he currently has six goals scored and one assist to his name through nine Serie A games played so far this season.
