Joao Mario, who plays for Portugal, has provided an account of what was spoken between Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney of Manchester United at their first meeting after Ronaldo's conversation with Piers Morgan was made public.
Despite their awkward-looking handshake when they met up for Portugal duty prior to the World Cup, Portugal winger Joao Mario insisted that there is no rift between Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes. Joao Mario was speaking on behalf of Portugal.
He has described the situation as "banter" and stated that Ronaldo is "quite fine" with the team as they prepare for their first match in Group H, which will take place on November 24 against Ghana. It was the first time a Manchester United player had been seen greeting the 37-year-old since the explosive interview clips were made public on Sunday. The meeting between the two took place in a seemingly sheepish manner.
Mario asserted that Ronaldo was "focused" on the World Cup and that he and Fernandes were simply sharing a joke, despite the fact that many fans speculated that Fernandes had acted coyly as a result of Ronaldo's comments about the club. Those comments were made about the club. During an interview with the press, he stated, "He [Ronaldo] is always happy when he's with the national team."
"As he has mentioned in the past, it is always a pleasure for him to be here, and from what I saw yesterday, he appears to be in excellent health." He has devoted his entire attention to the national team, and I have no doubt that he will be of tremendous assistance to us during the World Cup.
He continued by saying, in reference to the exchange between Ronaldo and Fernandes that has since gone viral on the internet: "I was in the locker room at the time, and I saw pictures of what had happened. They laughed about it amongst themselves. Bruno Fernandes was among the very last people to arrive at the location. The question that Cristiano asked was, "Did you come by boat?"
Before training, Erik Ten Hag and Cristiano Ronaldo joke around with one another.During the first team training session for Manchester United, Erik Ten Hag and Cristiano Ronaldo joke around before and after the workout, as well as at other times.
A number of commentators have taken issue with the fact that snippets of Ronaldo's interview with Morgan were made public only a few hours after Manchester United's 2-1 victory over Fulham. Jamie Carragher is one of those people, and he referred to it as "bizarre" and "bang out of order."
However, Mario stated that he did not have a problem with the timing, implying that Ronaldo will continue to be the focus of attention regardless. "For us it's quite the same; the headlines are always about him, so for us it's quite the same," he explained. "For us it's the same because the headlines are always about him." "Since everyone is always talking about Cristiano Ronaldo, I don't think there will be a problem with the timing. It should work out just fine for us.
