After failing to complete a transfer to Manchester United in the summer, Adrien Rabiot has stated that he considers himself extremely fortunate to still be playing for Juventus.
During the summer transfer window, the Juventus midfielder's name was frequently mentioned in connection with a move to Old Trafford. After the two clubs had settled on a fee of approximately £15 million, he was deep in negotiations with United in order to complete the transfer.
However, the 27-year-old player had significant wage demands, and as a result, United decided not to move forward with the deal. This occurred during the same summer in which Erik ten Hag's team was unsuccessful in their pursuit of top target Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona.
Since then, Rabiot has been very productive for Juventus, tallying five goals and two assists so far this season.
Now, he has discussed his choice to remain in Turin in an interview with La Gazzetta Dello Sport, in which he said: "It's true that I had conversations with clubs in the Premier League, but in the end, I was fortunate to remain here, and looking back, I think that was the right choice.
"Although the Premier League is the most watched league in the world, I don't worry about what will happen in the future. My attention is currently fixated on the World Cup. The club and I are not in a rush to make a decision (regarding the contract), and the atmosphere is calm, so we can consider all of our options.
