Marcus Rashford, a forward for Manchester United, has had a strong season overall, but he recognizes that there is one facet of his game that he wishes to enhance.
Marcus Rashford has acknowledged that he has the potential to score more goals for Manchester United this season from headers.
Rashford was demoted to the bench for the club's starting lineup during the previous season, but he had a successful preseason, which laid the groundwork for him to return to his previous level of play during the current season.Even though there is always room for improvement and Rashford believes that he should be scoring more headers, the academy graduate has contributed eight goals and three assists and he's playing with a smile on his face again.
This season, Rashford has scored header goals against FC Sheriff and West Ham, but he is striving to become more proficient in this area of the game.
"I still have the impression that I am capable of scoring a great deal more goals from headers. Rashford told the media at his club, "I just have the feeling that if I gamble more, I'll score more headers." "When I was playing for Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer], he moved me inside to the left a little bit, which allowed me to make these positions a little bit easier. After that, when I was a little bit closer inside but wasn't playing as a number nine, I was able to work in a partnership.
During the summer, Erik ten Hag's backroom staff received an unexpected new member in the form of Benni McCarthy. Rashford recently admitted that the South African striker coach is assisting him in improving his finishing, and he was one of the reasons why the South African was hired by the club.
"He's [McCarthy] absolutely been of great assistance to me in a lot of ways. Rashfords remarked that it is beneficial for the forward players on the team to have coaches who focus on offense within the group. "It's just that, day in and day out, our focus is on scoring goals rather than any of the other aspects of the game.
"We always have him there, and he's the one who talks to us about it. I believe that one of my goals is to rediscover the joy that comes from playing football, and since I am currently experiencing that joy, I won't grumble about it. "I'm content with my life as long as I'm winning and scoring goals,"
After Rashford's brave header against West Ham and the subsequent reaction from Ten Hag and Mitchell van der Gaag in the dugout, many United fans came to the conclusion that McCarthy had played a role in Rashford's goal.
