Manchester United downplay Anthony Martial's training mishap

Anthony Martial has been participating in training sessions with Manchester United alongside the club's other players who will not be participating in the World Cup.

Anthony Martial warms up

Anthony Martial, who plays for Manchester United, was a participant in a scuffle that occurred on the training ground at Carrington last week. Martial was informed that he would not be traveling with France's team to the World Cup, so he has remained in Manchester to continue his preparations alongside the other players who were not selected.

The Manchester Evening News has been informed that Daniel Gore, who is 18 years old, tackled Anthony Martial during a training session last week. Following the tackle, the two players got into a brief altercation, but they quickly made up with each other and the incident has been downplayed.

In addition, contrary to what some reports have suggested, it is common knowledge that Erik ten Hag does not prohibit first-team players from being tackled during practice.

According to our sources, it was just a minor disagreement, and contrary to what some people may believe, incidents of this nature are actually more common in a competitive training environment. This is because the pressure of playing for an elite club is conducive to high training standards.

In the absence of key players who have gone to the World Cup, Ten Hag has promoted younger players to first-team training. One of those players is a midfielder named Gore, who is highly regarded in the academy. Gore was instrumental in the Under-18s winning the FA Youth Cup the previous season.

At the weekend's France match, Karim Benzema was forced to pull out of the squad at the last minute, but Anthony Martial was not selected to replace him.
