Kobbie Mainoo could leave United in January
Prior to the beginning of the transfer window in January, Manchester United is mulling over loan offers for a large number of academy players.
MEN Sport understands United has been approached by a large number of interested parties regarding the availability of some of their most promising young players, and the club intends to continue weighing its choices before the transfer window reopens the following year.
After both of them were forced to sit out the summer transfer window due to injuries, United center backs Teden Mengi and Di'Shon Bernard are both making concerted efforts to find loan opportunities during the winter transfer window.
Mengi revealed this week that he wants to leave the club on loan again after spending time at Derby and Birmingham, and Bernard wants more meaningful minutes after performing well at Salford and Hull while on loan there.
It is also common knowledge that Charlie Savage will most likely leave the club on loan as he looks to advance his career by participating in his first genuine experience of professional football. This is one of the things that is known to happen.
The young Welsh player made a good impression on Erik ten Hag during the pre-season tour, but since then, he has not been promoted to the first-team squad to continue his football career.
There is also interest being shown in loaning out midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, who won the FA Youth Cup, though sources admit that it is less likely that he will leave the club just yet.
The young player, who is only 17 years old, has not yet made his debut at the professional level. Despite the fact that the Football League is interested in signing him, it appears that he will continue his development at the club.
Mainoo was not included in Ten Hag's preseason squad, but the United manager has a high opinion of him and he was given a spot on the bench for their Premier League match against Newcastle a month ago. The match ended in a goalless draw.
