Marcus Rashford, a forward for Manchester United, has praised Cristiano Ronaldo in the wake of the latter's acrimonious departure from the club earlier this week.
Marcus Rashford has paid tribute to Cristiano Ronaldo, who he refers to as his "idol," and thanked him for everything he did for Manchester United after Ronaldo's departure earlier this week. Rashford also expressed his gratitude for everything Ronaldo did for the club.
After his now-famous explosive conversation with Piers Morgan, the 37-year-old athlete's contract was officially terminated on Tuesday after both parties reached a mutual agreement to do so. This came as a direct result of the explosive interview that he had with Piers Morgan.
In the explosive interview, Ronaldo claimed that the club had disrespected him on multiple occasions, and as a result, he severed all ties with United and its manager, Erik ten Hag. Ronaldo has since burned all bridges with United.
Rashford is one of the players who will be tasked with leading the line for the remainder of the season. However, United will now look into the possibility of acquiring a new striker during the January transfer window in order to compensate for the loss of the Portuguese forward.
When asked about Ronaldo on Sunday afternoon, Rashford only had positive things to say about him, which is surprising given the contentious nature of his departure from the club.
Rashford, speaking to reporters from England's training camp in Qatar, remarked that playing with Kane "has been an unbelievable experience." "He is someone who I have always looked up to and considered to be an idol. It's something that I can carry with me for the rest of my life. I want to wish him the best of luck, and on behalf of Manchester United, we are grateful for everything he has done for the club."
