Beit Trust Scholarships for African Postgraduates in UK and SA

Postgraduate Scholarships Provided by the Beit Trust for African Students 2023/24: The Beit Trust is now accepting applications from African students who are interested in pursuing postgraduate study at one of its partner universities in the United Kingdom or South Africa.

 

The Beit Trust is a partnership of eight institutions in the United Kingdom and three universities in South Africa. Its mission is to provide financial assistance to students who demonstrate a strong desire to advance their education. Because of the relationship between the institutions, costs are spread out more evenly, which allows the Beit Trust to provide funding for a greater number of scholarships.

Scholarship for Postgraduate Study from the Beit Trust | Eligibility Requirements
Students from Zambia, Zimbabwe, or Malawi are eligible to apply for this scholarship, but they must demonstrate both a commitment to remaining in their home country after graduation and a current physical presence there.
Applicants are to submit their applications for a taught master's programme lasting one year at a university in the United Kingdom and for a taught master's programme lasting two years at a university in South Africa.
All applicants, with the exception of physicians and veterinarians, must be less than 30 years old on the 31st of December, 2022.
To practice medicine or veterinary medicine after December 31, 2022, applicants must be less than 35 years old.

Rewards for Scholarship Attendance


Expenses such as fees, tuition, and other associated academic charges.
A personal allowance that is linked to an index in line with the requirements of an independent authority and covers help for upkeep.
Other allowances are granted upon arrival and departure, including one for a laptop.
tickets in the least expensive class available for travel to and from the place of study.
Additionally, Trust will take care of any costs that may come up in 2023 and 2024 as a direct result of leftover Covid procedures.
The Process of Making an Application
How-to-Apply: In order to be considered for the Beit Trust Postgraduate Scholarship 2023/24, interested students are required to submit their applications in accordance with the following procedures:

If you submit an application to one of the partner universities in the UK or South Africa, you will be considered for admission to one of their postgraduate programs.
Notify the partner university that he or she will be pursuing the Beit Trust for scholarship support, and identify any relevant job experience at the same time.
Notify the Trust after the application has been sent in to the partner university, and also inform the Trust of the particular course for which the application was made.
Confirm their nationality to the Trust; Zambian applicants need to email their application forms to [email protected] for confirmation of their nationality.
Send your application materials to [email protected] if you are applying from Zimbabwe or Malawi.
The application, along with any and all supporting materials, must be uploaded to the website using the URL provided in order to be considered for the scholarship.
Document Requirements:
A completed and signed copy of the Medical Certificate Form from your attending physician. Before you can go on to the next step of the application process, you will need to do this first. To download the form, please click here: Medical Certificate Form
A copy of the offer letter that you received from one or more of the UK Partner Universities; or a PDF document that outlines the university(s) and course(s) that you want to apply to at one or more of the South African Partner Universities.
Degree outcomes.
Curriculum Vitae
A personal statement (no more than 500 words) in which you explain, in your own words, why you believe earning a postgraduate degree would be beneficial to the growth of your nation and how you plan to use that degree.
a current and clear image of yourself; this should not be your passport photo but should be something that showcases you in the best light.
a legible copy of your current, valid passport that includes the issuance date and expiration date.
The deadline for applications is February 20th, 2023.
