We are becoming more and more engulfed in an information epidemic, which the widespread dissemination of health misinformation online together with the rising skepticism of specialists has only served to emphasize with tragically dramatic focus.

The project will make use of the most recent tools of social epistemology and virtue epistemology in order to put our understanding of online inquiry and information sharing on an entirely new footing, in order to better understand the sources of online epistemic risk, and in order to better train ourselves to navigate them skillfully.

Applicants are required to hold, or expect to hold prior to the beginning of studies, an undergraduate degree in philosophy that includes courses in epistemology, either from a university in the United Kingdom with a first class or 2:1 honors level, or from an institution in another country that awards an equivalent degree.
