The incident occurred on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, in the Rumuigbo Junction region of Obio-Akpor.

The man, believed to be in his early sixties, was walking along the roadside when he tripped and collapsed onto the walkway.

Grace-identified source told Vanguard that when the man fell, he labored for some time but was unable to stand up.

According to the witness, passersby who congregated around the man did not assist him but instead took photographs.

"This afternoon, the man was wandering along the side of the road. He later tumbled down. Several individuals gathered around him. He attempted to stand but was unable to. He passed away later," she explained.

"Nobody knew him. People feared touching him because if authorities arrived, they could arrest them for questioning. So nobody wanted problem. There, the man perished."

Grace Iringe-Koko, the spokesperson for the State Police Command, verified the incident and stated that the command has ordered an investigation into the death.
