The British government 'apologised' to Peter Obi for his illegal detention — Atiku's aide.

Daniel Bwala, the presidential campaign spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar, stated that the British government apologized to Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi for his detention at Heathrow Airport.

Recall that on Friday, Obi was approached by an immigration official at London's Heathrow Airport and given a detention notice.
Diran Onifade, spokesman for the Campaign Council, issued a statement on Wednesday indicating that the LP presidential candidate was later released after being questioned for identity duplication, implying that someone had been impersonating Obi in London.

Bwala claimed on Thursday via his Twitter account that the British government has apologized to Obi for unlawfully serving him with a detention notice.

He wrote: "The British government apologized to Peter Obi for issuing him an unlawful detention notice.

"Can you now add the honorific'respek' to his name? We are currently awaiting an apology from the US government to Tinubu for the illicit collection of forfeited dollars.

"Asiwaju fans immediately begin insulting"

When Vanguard contacted an influential member of the Obi/Datti presidential campaign council, the source was unable to corroborate that the British government apologized to Obi for the aforementioned incident.

In addition, the UK Immigration office stated that it does not comment on individual cases when contacted by Vanguard.
