Guide to Using Siri on an iPhone 11

This article explains how to use Siri on iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max smartphones and how to alter Siri settings and preferences.

What to Learn

  • On iPhone 11 models, activate Siri by saying "Hey, Siri" or by tapping and holding the Side button on the right side.
  • On the iPhone 11, Siri can be wholly disabled or enabled via Settings Siri Search.
  • Since the iPhone 11 lacks a tangible Home button, Siri cannot be activated using this method.

How to Enable Siri on the iPhone 11

On older iPhone models, Siri was activated by touching the physical Home button below the screen on the device's front face. Due to the absence of this button on newer iPhonemodels, such as those in the iPhone 11 series, this approach is no longer available.

On the iPhone 11, Siri can still be accessed in two ways that are just as simple as using the old Home button.

  • Utilize the Side tab. Siri is activated by performing a long hold on the Side button on the right side of the iPhone 11. This is the same button used to activate the iPhone.
  • Say, "Hey, Siri." Simply speaking this phrase will activate Siri on your iPhone 11 by voice command. Follow the statement with a query or command, such as "How's the weather?" or "Open Facebook" to access Siri's full functionality.

Tip:Do not wait for Siri to become active or to materialize before issuing your command. Instead, combine everything into a single phrase, such as "Hey, Siri. Google search for images of Hawaii" or "Hey Siri! What is Brad Pitt's age?

How to Install Siri on an iPhone 11

Siri, Apple's virtual assistant, is preinstalled on every new iPhone and is integrated into the iOS operating system. There is no need to acquire or install a Siri application or file in order to use Siri on an iPhone 11.

Your iPhone should already include Siri. There is no way to deactivate Siri.

Where on the iPhone 11 is Siri?

Due to Siri being integrated into the iPhone operating system, there is no Siri app on the Home interface of your iPhone 11. Use the aforementioned methods to activate Siri on your iPhone 11 if you're pondering how to do so.

Note:Siri is not an iPhone application. It is an iOS operating system feature.

How to Configure Siri on the iPhone 11

Siri should be activated by default on your iPhone 11. However, if you are unable to activate the digital assistant, you or another user may have disabled it or altered its settings.

You can configure Siri at any time by launching the Settings app and navigating to the Siri Search screen from the primary menu. You can change Siri's voice, select how it responds, and disable it when using certain applications or performing specific functions from this screen.

Note:As of the iOS 14.5 update, Siri does not have a default voice. When setting up a new iOS device, choose from a variety of Siri voices that use neural text-to-speech technology to produce a more genuine sound.

The top three Siri settings are the most important ones to monitor. If all three of these are disabled, Siri will be effectively deactivated and will never activate.

  • Listen for "Hey Siri." Enabling this setting enables voice activation of Siri on iPhone 11 by speaking this phrase.
  • Siri can be accessed via the Side Button. By activating this option, you can use Siri by tapping the physical button on the right side of your iPhone 11 to activate Siri. If you frequently activate Siri by accident by pressing this icon, you may want to disable this setting.

  • Permit Siri While Locked. This setting enables Siri access while the iPhone 11 is closed. If Siri continues activating while in your purse or pocket and making calls or playing AppleMusicautomatically, disabling this setting should resolve the issue.
