The governor of Benue state, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia, has dismissed all political appointees operating in the various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) under the administration of his predecessor, Samuel Ortom.

Alia has ordered the dismissed political appointees to turn over their responsibilities to the most senior civil servants in their respective offices.

It was reported that the governor's principal press secretary, Mr. Tersoo Kula, briefed reporters on the matter following an emergency meeting.
