A truck crushes the king of Ogun to death within a commercial tricycle.

There are rumors that Oba Bankole has begun using a tricycle due to the increase in the price of gasoline.

Oba Abraham Olusegun Bankole, the Olu of Onibuku in the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State, was killed by a vehicle.
Tuesday, July 25, 2023, a tragic accident occurred on the Ota-Idiroko expressway in Ogun State.
The traditional ruler was riding a tricycle (Keke Napep) near Living Faith Church when a liquor-laden vehicle with the registration number EPE 254 XF drove over the tricycle.

Unfortunately, the monarch died instantly while attempting to dismount the tricycle.

Both the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) spokesperson in Ogun, Florence Okpe, and the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps spokesperson, Babatunde Akinbiyi, have confirmed the calamity.

"It's true, indeed. Today, there was an accident that resulted in a fatality in the region. Akinbiyi stated, "Today, I was informed of the incident."

"Corps Commander and Chief Executive Officer of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency express their condolences to the Kabiyesi family and the entire community," he added.

Truck crushes

A first-class Oba in Ogun West corroborated the incident to reporters and expressed regret that the monarch chose to travel by tricycle rather than by personal vehicle.

Florence Okpe, spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, stated that she had not yet been completely briefed by the FRSC's Ota Unit on the incident's details.

The monarch's remains have been deposited at the General Hospital in Ota, while the vehicle involved in the accident has been removed from the roadway by police officers.
