A Nigerian couple caused quite a stir on social media after their WhatsApp conversation, in which they admitted to planning to marry other individuals, was made public.

In the viral video, the woman sends her boyfriend an emotional voicemail informing him that she has consented to marry the man her family has chosen for her.

The woman, who sounded repentant and distraught, asked for his forgiveness for betraying him and pleaded with him to find a place in his heart to do so.

According to her, she did not want to marry her fiance, but her family compelled her to consent to the union.

Surprisingly, in response to her confession, her boyfriend also asked for her absolution, revealing that he is engaged to another woman.

He disclosed that he has already married his secret companion in the traditional manner and even sent her a copy of his wedding invitation.

The lover, who appeared unconcerned about his girlfriend's intention to marry another man, encouraged her to attend his wedding with her intended spouse.
