Manchester United reportedly made progress on a deal for Sofyan Amrabat following'secret talks' with Fiorentina via intermediaries, and according to the most recent rumors in Italy, an agreement could be reached shortly. The Moroccan international midfielder is the next target for Erik ten Hag, and optimism is growing that an agreement can be reached with the Italian club.
Amrabat, who previously preferred a move to Spain despite interest from Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, is now prepared to consent to a transfer to Manchester United.
According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, after approving Gaetano Castrovilli's imminent transfer to Bournemouth, Fiorentina will focus on the sale of Nordin Amrabat.

Following communication with the player and his representatives, La Viola is completely aware that the World Cup semi-finalist intends to depart the club this summer.
Now United are well positioned to finalize his signing once Rasmus Hojlund is unveiled at Old Trafford on Saturday, when they host Lens in their latest preseason friendly.
Amrabat is anticipated to cost between £25 million and £30 million, so negotiations should be relatively straightforward. The stumbling block is that United must raise funds to continue spending after spending a staggering £189 on transfers this summer. Galatasaray is presently among the clubs pursuing Brazil international Fred, who is currently on the verge of leaving the club. Donny van de Beek is negotiating a definitive transfer to Real Sociedad in Spain.

Prior to the 2023/24 Premier League season, Ten Hag's midfield roster would be augmented by the departures of both players. United's desire to compete on all fronts this season has led them to concentrate on adding quality players while also bolstering their depth.
Amrabat has a wealth of expertise after his exploits at the World Cup, and he helped Fiorentina reach the UEFA Champions League final last season. Interestingly, he came close to joining Tottenham under Antonio Conte, but the deal ultimately fell through.
Even if United are successful in acquiring Amrabat, there is a possibility that additional transfers will occur before the September 1 deadline.
The Red Devils are also searching for a backup goalkeeper in anticipation of Dean Henderson's possible transfer to Nottingham Forest.
There is a remote possibility that Harry Maguire could leave United if they receive a better offer than the £20 million proposal they denied from West Ham.
