Farida Sobowale of House of Phreeda, a well-known Lagos socialite, has spoken out for the first time since her rescue from a suicide attempt on the Third Mainland Bridge.

It was previously reported that the mother of three was rescued on the evening of Thursday, August 17, after attempting suicide.

She drove her Lexus SUV to the bridge, descended, and was about to leap into the lagoon when she was rescued by bystanders.

The businesswoman disclosed in an online video that she attempted suicide out of love for her ex-husband, according to a recent update.

It was learned that she and her companion, Damola, held a high-profile wedding in June 2023, which featured a performance by Fuji Maestro K1 De Ultimate.

Unfortunately, less than two months after their allegedly N100 million wedding, Damola ditched her for his side chick, Yemisi Fasawe.

In addition, he allegedly insulted her by stating that she appears like an old woman and that he was unable to satisfy her in bed.

Following her recent attempt at suicide, Farida released a video in which she admitted that she did it due to her intense love for her ex-husband.

She stated that she felt betrayed and duped after their lavish wedding and begged her admirers and followers for forgiveness. She added that she has moved on and given God control of the situation.
