Explore the inspiring journey of Alejandro Balde as he renews his Barcelona contract until 2028, cementing his role as a rising star.

Alejandro Balde has officially extended his contract with Barcelona, solidifying his position as one of the club's rising stars committed to Camp Nou's future.

Balde's previous contract was set to expire at the end of the current season, but this fresh agreement ensures his presence at Camp Nou until 2028, featuring an astounding €1 billion release clause.

Clearly, Balde expressed his immense satisfaction with the contract renewal, emphasizing his profound connection to his cherished club.

"After spending 13 years with the club, my journey has been filled with cherished memories. My lifelong aspiration of ascending to the first team has been realized today. I extend my gratitude to all those who played a part in this journey, including my family, the management, and the coach who placed their trust in me," Balde articulated.

Since his emergence in the professional ranks last season, Balde has participated in over 50 competitive matches for Barcelona.

"This dream was always on my mind, but it's a formidable challenge that demands substantial sacrifices, not an achievement within every child's grasp. Ultimately, through relentless work and dedication, this dream has been fulfilled," he added.

Balde also expressed his commitment to maintaining connections with his childhood friends in the La Vernida neighborhood. "My roots are important to me, and whenever possible, I make an effort to reconnect with my friends," he shared.

Following the departure of Jordi Alba during the summer, Balde has assumed the role of the club's primary left-back. However, he conveyed a composed mindset regarding the legacy of wearing the number three jersey previously adorned by Gerard Pique.

"The number 3 bears no burden for me. Each player has their unique journey, and the number 3 holds significance due to its association with Pique, who served as an inspiration to many young talents at the club," Balde asserted.

Balde's contributions have been instrumental in Barcelona's promising start to the current season, featuring in five competitive matches thus far.

"We've launched the season on a strong note, boasting a remarkable team brimming with exceptional talent. Personally, my objective is continuous improvement," he stated.

Looking ahead, Balde envisions his continued growth within the Barcelona ranks and expressed his desire to remain at Camp Nou for the foreseeable future.

"I aspire to maintain the level of contribution I've delivered thus far. At just 19 years old, I acknowledge there is ample room for improvement and learning. In five years, I'll be 24, still young, and I hope to remain an integral part of this club for many years to come," Balde affirmed following the contract signing.

Balde's contract extension was met with jubilation, with club president Joan Laporta commending the young defender's potential.

Now, with Balde secured until 2028, Barcelona is expected to shift its focus toward renewing the contract of Lamine Yamal, while resolving Gavi's contractual situation may also take precedence for the Catalans.
