The October 30, 2023 episode of the Filipino series Batang Quiapo begins with a flashback to when Joaquin (Coco Martin) was a child.
He is seen begging on the streets of Quiapo when he is taken in by a group of criminals. The criminals teach Joaquin how to steal and pickpocket, and he quickly becomes one of their best thieves.
Cut to the present day, Joaquin is now a grown man and a successful businessman. However, he is still involved in the criminal underworld. One day, Joaquin is approached by a powerful crime lord named Don Emilio (Robert Arevalo). Don Emilio offers Joaquin a job: to steal a valuable necklace from a wealthy businesswoman named Doña Luisa (Susan Roces).
Joaquin accepts the job, and he and his team begin planning the heist. However, Joaquin's plans are complicated when he falls in love with Doña Luisa's granddaughter, Mercedes (Julia Montes). Mercedes is a kind and compassionate woman, and she is everything that Joaquin is not.
Joaquin is torn between his love for Mercedes and his loyalty to Don Emilio. He knows that if he steals the necklace, he will break Mercedes's heart. However, he also knows that if he doesn't do it, he will be killed by Don Emilio.
In the end, Joaquin decides to steal the necklace. He and his team successfully carry out the heist, but Joaquin is caught by Mercedes. Mercedes is heartbroken and disgusted by Joaquin's actions, and she breaks up with him.
Joaquin is devastated, but he knows that he has made his bed. He decides to leave Quiapo and start a new life somewhere else. However, before he can leave, he is ambushed by Don Emilio's men.
Don Emilio is angry that Joaquin stole the necklace and kept it for himself. He orders his men to kill Joaquin. However, Joaquin is able to escape.
Joaquin is now on the run from Don Emilio and his men. He knows that he is in danger, but he is determined to start a new life. He wants to be a better man, and he wants to win Mercedes back.
