Manuel Ugarte's Manchester United Move - Loan Deal, PSG's Position, and Price Tag Revealed

Manchester United has until the deadline to make additional player acquisitions.

Manuel Ugarte of PSG has been linked to a move to Manchester United all summer long. They have until this Friday, the end of the transfer window, to finalize a deal. ManchesterWorld is investigating a loan with a buyout option since they recognize their growth.

Joshua Zirkzee scored on his debut for Erik ten Hag's team in their 1-0 home victory over Fulham to start the 2024–25 Premier League season, but the Red Devils are still recruiting.

Talks advancing

Asking price
According to a report from GiveMeSport, "talks" are "advancing" amongst the various parties involved, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth: Negotiations over Manuel Ugarte are progressing between PSG and Manchester United. Before the deadline, a cautiously optimistic move may be made. Both United and PSG prefer a permanent agreement, but an obligation-based loan is also being discussed.

Asking price

The Manchester Evening News reports that the Red Devils are currently "unwilling" to reach PSG's estimate of £51.1 million, suggesting that a temporary agreement is becoming more plausible. It is believed that the action will rely on if Scott McTominay is sold before the cutoff date. Fulham, a team in the top division, had sought him, but they have since switched their attention to Sander Berge of Burnley.

PSG stance

The Daily Mail claims that while the Ligue 1 powerhouses are "happy" to see the star go, they have no intention of bringing down his asking price. According to their claim, if McTominay departs, he would be a "direct replacement" for him at Napoli in Serie A. The Scotland international's contract expires in 2025, although United has the option to extend it by an additional year if they so choose.

Left out of squad

The 23-year-old Ugarte was left out of PSG's starting lineup for their first-day match. Although he moved to France barely a year ago, it appears that he will soon be leaving. "Manuel Ugarte, OUT of PSG squad for their opening Ligue 1 game," said Fabrizio Romano on X. He has always wanted to play for Manchester United.
Exactly right. However, that will depend on what PSG wants. Ugarte is adamant that he wants the #MUFC to happen as soon as feasible.

Under former Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa, the 22-cap Uruguay international was included in the team for their most recent Copa America event. Before traveling to Europe as a young child, he began his career in his own country in the Fenix youth ranks.

He was signed by the heavyweights of Primeira Liga in 2021, and he went on to play 85 matches throughout all competitions, contributing to their Taça da Liga victory.

He signed with PSG a year ago, and during that time he made 37 appearances for the Paris team, 25 of which were in the league, although he was scoreless. Last season, they took home both the Coupe de France and the league championship.

Famalicão first snapped him up in in Portugal before he caught the attention of Sporting Lisbon.
