Manchester United is willing to pay more than Arsenal for the transfer of a South American star.

Manchester United are reportedly offering more money than Arsenal in the ongoing battle for the acquisition of FC Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo. The two Premier League giants are supposedly battling it out for the services of the defender.

However, his current contract with the club, which expires in 2023, may force him to go on a cheap in the near future. He has established himself as a crucial player at the Nou Camp in recent years, but his current contract is set to end in 2023.

Gerard Romero has reported that both Manchester United and Arsenal have made substantial bids to Barcelona's Araujo, with the Red Devils giving somewhat more money than the Gunners.

Araujo could likely make a significant contribution to Manchester United's current situation, given the poor form of Harry Maguire and the fact that the team's defense is in desperate need of reinforcements following their elimination from the Champions League by Atletico Madrid.

Arsenal, on the other hand, may not be in such a rush to sign the South American prospect, with both Ben White and Gabriel Magalhaes proving to be effective as a pair in Mikel Arteta's side this season.
