A move for Chelsea head Tuchel is possible, but another option is the current frontrunner.

According to reports, Manchester United have identified Ajax manager Erik ten Hag as their leading candidate to take over as the permanent successor to interim manager Ralf Rangnick this coming summer.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils have a big decision to make this summer as they look at a number of different candidates for the manager's position. Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is also reportedly a name they will not rule out, even if ten Hag is currently ahead of him in the running for the position.

In his time at Chelsea, Tuchel has done outstanding job, leading the club to the Champions League final in his first few months in command of the club last season and transforming the team into a strong title contender this season.

Despite the fact that the German strategist has more expertise and established track record at the top level than Ten Hag, it's simple to see why the Dutchman is so highly valued by Manchester United.

Erik ten Hag to Man United?

After a successful spell at Ajax, ten Hag appears to be the kind of Jurgen Klopp-like hire that may be extremely beneficial to United in the long run.

The Manchester United football club has been going through a period of transition for some time now, as they've battled to find their way since the retirement of the iconic Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013.

It's difficult to see anyone in the world being able to truly replace Ferguson, but the additions of Tuchel and Ten Hag would at the very least move them closer to the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool.
