In the role of Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag will contribute three things

After it was announced that the Dutchman had held negotiations with the club, he quickly rose to the top of the fan polls. But what changes can we expect at Old Trafford under his leadership?

It is widely believed that Erik Ten Hag has been interviewed for the position of Manchester United's next permanent manager in recent weeks, and the Manchester Evening News believes that he has been doing so in the last week. Nothing has been confirmed as of yet, with the club stating that they wish to interview a variety of prospects, although it has been reported that discussions have been productive.

Ajax, under the leadership of the Dutchman, went undefeated in the Champions League group stages before being eliminated by Benfica in the knockout stages. They are also in first place in the Eredivisie with a goal differential of 67 and have only lost three games all season.

Ten Hag is in his prime at the age of 52, and he possesses all of the characteristics necessary to become the manager of Manchester United. With the Ajax mentality of developing young players, he has completely reconstructed the team after they were dismantled following their run to a second consecutive Champions League quarterfinal appearance in the 2019/20 season.

The style of play has been an area in which United have struggled recently. This is not to suggest that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was always in charge, but it seems as if United haven't had a consistent style of play since Sir Alex Ferguson stepped down as manager in 2014.

Under Solskjaer, United used to play counter-attacking football, but there has been a demand from supporters for the team to dominate matches against lower-league opposition. This is where they have had difficulty; they are unable to regulate games.

There is little doubt that you will have a distinct style under Erik ten Hag's guidance, but I have a hunch that it will be slightly different from what we are used to seeing at Ajax. Why? In light of the fact that he has already stated that his ideology must be formed around the DNA of a club, When compared to Amsterdam, United is a different team.

According to the opponent's strengths and weaknesses, he adjusts his strategy. Ten gu prefers to play a 4-3-3/ 4-2-3-1 formation, which switches to a 3-4-3 formation during the course of the game. Of course, seeing something like this at Old Trafford would be a breath of fresh air since it would be different.

There's no doubt that the Dutchman would prefer to play offensive football over defensive football because he places a higher value on attacking football than defensive football. Under what circumstances do I believe Ten Hag will be successful?

United's wingers, such as Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho, have the potential to elevate their game to an entirely new level. The performances of Dusan Tadic and Antony have been outstanding on the left and right sides of the attack this season. Their contributions have enabled Sebastian Haller to score 10 Champions League goals in the first six group stage matches.

Take a look at what Ten Hag could accomplish if he can convince Rashford and Sancho to provide assists for Cristiano Ronaldo. LOTS AND LOTS OF GOALS!

Ten Hag would get United playing good footbal

According to Mike Parrott, the Ajax invasion has begun.

Even if Manchester United does decide to hire Ten Hag, the Dutchman may face difficulties in the short term. Ten Hag would require assistance in dealing with the absurd demands of managing Cristiano Ronaldo, as well as having to compete on a weekly basis with the likes of Antonio Conte, Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp, and Thomas Tuchel, among others.

In addition to himself, Ten Hag would very certainly bring his assistant Mitchell van der Gaag with him to Old Trafford to help him out. According to The Telegraph, Van der Gaag might be joined by a Dutch coach who has ties to Manchester United, with some fans believing that this could pave the way for the return of Robin van Persie or Jaap Stam to the club.

Ten Hag is reportedly expected to bring some Ajax players with him to Manchester United, which would not be a huge surprise. In order to establish his mark on the club while also having a voice in the changing room from a player's perspective, it is highly typical for a new manager to bring their general from their previous squad with them to help establish his mark.

United may fill up some of the gaps in their team with players like Edson Alvarez and Noussair Mazraoui, both of whom are available for cheap from Ajax. As with Declan Rice, Alvarez began his career as a centre-back but has evolved into a defensive midfielder under Ten Hag's tutelage.

Mazraoui is a 23-year-old right-back whose contract with the club expires in the summer. Considering his six-foot-tall stature and ability to play in midfield when necessary, a versatile player such as Mazraoui would be an extremely shrewd, yet smart purchase to provide competition and rotation for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Due to the fact that Donny van de Beek is already at United, Ten Hag would be able to adjust relatively easily if he were able to bring in players like Alvarez and Mazraoui on a budget while also bringing his trusted right hand Van der Gaag with him.
In the opinion of Casey Evans, he would be the best bald manager in the Premier League.

As you can undoubtedly assume, Pep Guardiola now holds this position, but with the squad he has at his disposal and his style of play, you would think he could establish a name for himself and compete head-to-head with the Premier League's finest managers. His exploits at Ajax have already left a lasting impression on many of his admirers.

This season, he completed the double over German side Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, and the supporters were enthralled not only by the outcome, but also by the manner in which Ajax performed in both games. United fans would be hoping that he could repeat that success if he were to join them at Old Trafford.

He has the ability to instill such tactics and philosophy (a risky phrase to use when talking Dutch managers and United) into the current generation of young talent at Old Trafford, and I am confident that he will be able to restore the club to its former prominence. Ten Hag worked as an assistant coach for Bayern's development group while Guardiola was in charge of the main team, and when asked about Ten Hag in 2019, Guardiola was effusive in his admiration for the Ajax manager.

In a news conference prior to the match, he stated; "I was fortunate enough to meet him while playing for Bayern Munich, where he was an assistant coach for the second team. We had a lot of interesting conversations. I'm thrilled that he's in such a venerable establishment. It would have been a delight to take on the role of him. I wish him the best of luck in his next two games, which I will be watching on television."

Neither manager has faced off against the other in the second leg of their Champions League tie against Tottenham Hotspur, which ended in a hat-trick for Lucas Moura. Ten Hag, on the other hand, would have a number of opportunities to get the better of his old colleague if he were to join the United States team.
