Former Manchester United players have been informed about the club's next manager.

Several former Manchester United players are said to have been consulted in the club's hunt for a new manager ahead of the upcoming campaign.

To prepare for the 2022/23 season, Manchester United will be looking for a new manager to replace Ralf Rangnick, who has been acting as interim head coach until then.

As reported by The National, there are now just two key contenders left in Erik ten Hag and Mauricio Pochettino, with Manchester United talking with several of their former players as part of the recruitment process, albeit no names are specified.

In spite of the fact that Ten Hag has made an impression at Ajax, one imagines that former players may be inclined to recommend the more experienced and proven choice in Pochettino.

Erik ten Hag could be set for the Man United job

Mauricio Pochettino is another option for Man Utd.

Former United midfielder Nicky Butt recently praised Pochettino in an interview with FourFourTwo, while other former players may disagree.

To Mauricio Pochettino, Butt said: “I'd go all-out to get him as manager. His record in the Premier League, his youth and enthusiasm, his style of play and his coaching staff are all positive.

“We had lunch together at Spurs' training field. Play for him.”
