During the last two seasons, Manchester United has spent $120 million on right-wingers (Amad, Facundo Pellistri, and Jadon Sancho). However, it's thought that there have been talks inside Old Trafford about the need for another right-sided forward.

At the moment, the club has more important matters to attend to. Defensive midfield and center forward are critical areas where United need to strengthen, while the right wing is still considered an area that hasn't been repaired despite significant expenditure. The signing of Sancho as a right-sided forward is odd, given that the 21-year-old has been at his best while playing on the left.

Sancho's transition to the Premier League was never going to be easy. His nationality didn't ensure he would hit the ground running in his own country, contrary some thought. With more time and space at your disposal in the Bundesliga, Sancho visibly struggled to adjust during the season's early stages. That's all changed now, and he seems to be getting better every week, at least.

Sancho producing his best form on the left has been hard for United. It's been a toss-up between Anthony Elanga and Marcus Rashford for the right wing spot, and neither player has been able to establish himself in that spot. Ralf Rangnick has tended to utilize those three players in such roles, but Erik ten Hag of Ajax could change that.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Ajax believes that United's next manager will be Ten Hag. United's playing roster will face uncertainty if the Dutchman is named as the club's new CEO. That uncertainty will also create opportunity for others and Ten Hag has an amazing track record of dealing with young talent.

Alejandro Garnacho might be the next player to bridge the gap from United's youth to the first squad if Ten Hag comes. Garnacho has been vital in United's FA Youth Cup campaign, scoring five goals in that competition, and it's clear to understand why fans are getting excited. Garnacho's enthusiasm is unlikely to have been dimmed by his training sessions with Lionel Messi.

At just 17, Garnacho is far from a finished product, but his talismanic performances this season suggest he could take the next step in the very near future. It's been a blast keeping tabs on Garnacho. Your eye is immediately pulled to him when witnessing a United young game.

In United's three-man assault, though, it is unclear where Garnacho would fit in. On the left flank, Garnacho has spent most of his time this season, and when looking at the players ahead of him, he couldn't be in a better place in terms of his growth right now. When considering the attacking possibilities available to Manchester United, it appears to be in everyone's best interests to shift Sancho back to the right. That would quickly restore equilibrium.

Ten Hag could use Sancho, Elanga (who could also play as a centre-forward) and Amad on the right flank next season, while Rashford and Garnacho could be deployed on the left flank next season. Those who are available are young and hungry. They are all attempting to prove a point.

Rashford has always been best playing down the left channel and he's now at crossroads in his United career. If Ten Hag moves Rashford to the left side of the field, he will have a better chance of regaining his form, and Garnacho may serve as his backup striker.

If Rashford is unable to reverse his downward spiral before the conclusion of the following season, Garnacho will be ready to compete for a starting position. Ten Hag has constructed two successful Ajax teams on a tight budget — his most expensive signing at Ajax is Daley Blind, who he acquired for £14.4 million (ironically from Manchester United) — and his concentration on developing youth players has been the foundation of each of his victories. That is an extremely lovable characteristic.

United will be very than aware of Ten Hag's record of extending opportunities to youngsters from Ajax's youth and there's little question that would have been covered in his interview. When Ten Hag met with United executives two weeks ago, he left a lasting impression.

As with Garnacho, the potential appointment of Ten Hag will be warmly welcomed by practically everyone associated with United, including those in the club's academy and players who are on the verge of breaking into the first-team.

Ten Hag has the ability to guide the youth to the pinnacle of his profession, and he could be the one to do so.
