On Saturday afternoon, Manchester United will travel to Goodison Park to face Everton.
In their first match back from the international break, United drew 1-1 with Leicester City last weekend, a disappointing result for the Red Devils. Ralf Rangnick will be looking for a better performance from his team here, as the competition for the top four places appears to be wide open at the moment.
The Red Devils are underdogs to qualify for the Champions League, but Arsenal's 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace earlier in the week gave them some reason to be optimistic. To keep their Premier League membership, Manchester United will face Everton today, and Frank Lampard's men will need all three points to avoid relegation. Everton were defeated by Burnley in midweek, and the result dealt a severe blow to their ambitions of remaining in the Premier League.
Everton should be prepared to fight when Manchester United comes to town, as they did in the reverse encounter, which ended in a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford in October. Rangnick stated on Friday that Scott McTominay, Luke Shaw, Raphael Varane, and Edinson Cavani will be unable to participate in the encounter.
Last weekend, Cristiano Ronaldo was ruled out with illness and will now make his comeback this week.
