After his current loan spell with Sevilla ends at the end of the season, Anthony Martial admits that it would be "extremely complicated" for him to stay at the club indefinitely. The French forward was loaned out by Manchester United in the January transfer window after becoming dissatisfied with his lack of playing time over the current season.
Martial, 26, made only 11 appearances for Manchester United this season before interim manager Ralf Rangnick gave him his dream of a loan move at the start of the new year.
The former Monaco target has scored just one goal in ten games for Sevilla, and he has failed to score or provide an assist in his previous seven matches, which he attributes to a recent muscle ailment.
"I'm feeling fantastic right now. As ABC Sevilla reported, "It was a complicated injury that required a considerable amount of time to recuperate from, but now I'm considerably better."
This decision to travel to Sevilla was made after careful consideration of my ability to get back home and be available to the team in the shortest amount of time possible.
In order to display his best version of himself from now until the end of the season, I'm working on it. After a lengthy period of time without participating in football, I was able to appreciate it once more."
"I know I am capable of playing at a better level, and I strive to achieve it, but the injury, followed by the adjustment to a new club and a new city, has proven to be challenging for me due to the language barrier."
Martial still has two years left on his current United contract, and he has admitted that he does not expect to return to Sevilla for the upcoming season, as his parent club prepares to welcome Erik ten Hag as their new manager.
"I think it's going to be very difficult to continue at Sevilla," he continued. That isn't anything I'm concerned about at the moment. When I arrived, I was well aware that I would be gone for six months and that I would almost certainly be required to return to Manchester United," Martial said.
As a rookie player at a major European club like Sevilla, I'm delighted with the opportunity to get some minutes on the field. " Getting us into the top four will be a huge accomplishment, and I will be overjoyed for the supporters, who have been really supportive of me since I began."
