This week's home game against Norwich City will serve as the starting point for a group known as "The 1958," which has taken up the duty of stepping forward and seeking to reconcile the club's highly fragmented fanbase.
Through social media, including MUST on Twitter, and coverage in the tabloids and broadsheets, as well as online media outlets and Sky Sports, this upcoming march/protest has been elevated significantly in the public consciousness, and it has gained some legitimacy among the fanbase as a result of receiving such widespread media attention and endorsement.
The ludicrous, vintage Glazernomics coincidences, on the other hand, have already begun in what can only be described as a humorous attempt to quench the fire ignited by The 1958 among a global gathering of Reds who are united in their desire to see Glazers expelled from their country.
With leaked news a few days ago that there was now a verbal agreement, it appeared that Manchester United had successfully fought off RB Leipzig to land their guy, the man the fans wished to see sign with the club. According to what appears to be, United is delivering on our request.
Today? Old Trafford is set to be completely reconstructed and modernized, according to a major announcement made today by the club itself in front of the entire world! That is great news! News with no mention of actual plans, no timetable provided (hmm...), and nothing more than fluff and phrases to make it appear that they are doing their part to help us fans once again.
Manchester United PLC is in for a tough time because the fans are no longer as trusting as they once were when the club makes promises and hypotheses. Instead, we have historical evidence to support the cynical attitude that this is simply more public relations attempts by the club to try and squash the protest.
Having failed to achieve their objectives, United have exposed their smokescreen, their snake-like tactics, and their lies, and you will see on Saturday that we do not accept this, that we do not accept the Glazers, and that we will not accept them in the future.
It is anticipated that the complaints would not be as readily dismissed by the club as they were in the past, with flamboyant false promises that have not been followed, high-profile signings, and the like.
Neither the formation of teams nor the signing of players nor the normal Glazer silencing techniques can enable for a victory to stand.
When we had them on the ropes after the Liverpool match, we decided to give them back the center of the ring rather than go for the knockout.
Maybe things will turn out a little differently this time.
