Man United fans are perplexed about the role of Darren Fletcher in the wake of Erik ten Hag's rebuilding.

Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick has spent a significant amount of his time in the dugout, leading to some uncertainty over Fletcher's status at the club.

It's been a long time since Manchester United have had a winning season on the field and a losing season behind the scenes. Something has to be done because the team hasn't won a trophy in five years and hasn't won the league in nearly a decade.

John Murtough, who was named the club's director of football last season, is spearheading that transformation. As a result of Richard Arnold's appointment as CEO, many supporters had thought that Ed Woodward would have delegated the football operation to someone with a better understanding of the sport than himself.

Murtough, on the other hand, has already made significant judgments. In order to reform their recruitment, Manchester United have let go of their chief scout Jim Lawlor and their global head of recruitment Marcel Bout. Erik ten Hag will take over as the club's new manager in the summer.

United fans, on the other hand, continue to have concerns about some of the club's backroom staff, with the majority of these concerns centered on the role of Darren Fletcher. In his new role as Technical Director for the club, the club's former midfielder has apparently been instrumental in assisting Murtough in identifying the issues that need to be addressed and in recruiting new employees.

Fans, on the other hand, have been perplexed as to why Fletcher has continued to share the dugout with interim manager Ralf Rangnick in recent weeks. The obvious reason is that when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer left, United lost two major coaches in Kieran McKenna and Michael Carrick, and were only able to appoint Chris Armas, but this has still caused considerable consternation.

Fletcher's appointment as technical director has divided the fanbase, with some questioning whether he is qualified for the position. These are just a few of the replies from Manchester United supporters on Twitter.
