Fellowships from McDonald in 2023 (Fully Funded)

Full financial support is provided to overseas students who are selected for the McDonald Fellowships 2022-2023. Both master's degree and doctoral degree students are eligible for these awards. The fellowship consists of a grant to cover travel and living expenses totaling about £30,000 GBP per year for a period of two years, as well as an additional gift to the host institution of £2,000 GBP each year.

Allows early career MS research scientists from lower and middle income countries to work in a research institution outside of their own country through the McDonald Fellowship. After receiving the award, we anticipate that candidates will be able to make use of the newly gained skills and networks in order to continue working on multiple sclerosis research and/or patient care in low- and middle-income countries.

Study in: Either the participant's native country or a neighboring nation is acceptable options.

Financial Support for Students

The recipient of a McDonald Fellowship will receive the following perks, which are listed below:

A fellow will be provided with a yearly stipend of £30,000 GBP to cover their living and transportation costs.
A donation in the amount of £2,000 GBP is going to be made to a fellow's institute.

Criteria for Acceptance into the McDonald Fellowship Program

Candidates must satisfy all of the standards listed below in order to be considered for McDonald Fellowships, which are as follows:

Language(s) required: English
International students from nations with a low or intermediate income are eligible to apply.
At least a Master's degree or PhD. is required, as is a doctorate or MD.
A candidate may potentially be qualified if he or she is conducting research on multiple sclerosis in another low- or middle-income nation.
A candidate must choose a host institution before applying, either in their own country or in a neighboring nation if travel is permitted, because the application will be joint between the applicant and the host institution.
The nominee must be employed or enrolled in school in an underdeveloped or middle-income country (defined by the World Bank as any country with a low, lower middle, or upper middle income).
In the six months prior to the nomination, working or studying abroad on a project that began within that time frame
a grant from the MS International Federation has allowed you to pursue your education in a foreign country.

At the conclusion of the application, the Host must offer a supporting statement*.
The applicant's current supervisor or employer's name and contact information should be included as three further references.
