Students from outside the United States are eligible to apply for the Lazord Fellowship 2023, which comes with full funding. This scholarship will cover the costs of training for one year. The following perks are available to Lazord Fellowship recipients:

  • Become a full-time employee at a local non-profit or for-profit organization for a year.
  • Receive a small housing allowance (depending on the fellow's placement and needs) as well as a living stipend (based on local living costs).
  • Have chances to connect with professionals and influential people from all fields, both locally and around the world.
  • Experienced civil society professionals will provide you with one-on-one monthly mentoring sessions.
  • Dozens of civil society leaders and professional trainers will give a minimum of 15 training sessions to help you improve your skills in many areas of your work: from project management to leadership to team building.
  • Assemble a regional cohort of fellows from all three countries to attend the opening and closing international conferences each year.

Criteria for Lazord Fellowship Eligibility

Candidates for the Lazord Fellowship must meet the following criteria:

  • English is the required language.
  • All countries in the world are eligible.
  • Note: If you are a foreigner, you must have a local residency status and permission to work in the country where the fellowship is. This is true even if you are from a conflict zone.
  • All graduates of public colleges are eligible to apply, regardless of their field of study.
  • For graduates of private universities, a need-based scholarship of at least two years is available.
  • With a date of graduation no earlier than 2019
  • Participate in the Annual International Conference, which takes place from September 21st to 27th, 2017.
  • A certificate of exclusion from military service is required for Egyptian males who wish to apply for a visa to study in the United States.
  • A proven track record of involvement in the community.
  • Full-time one-year fellowship starting September 2022.
  • Please note that you must have residency status and authorisation to work in the country where you are applying for a fellowship. Applicants must be nationals or foreign nationals (including those from conflict regions).

Application process for Lazord Fellowship?

Following these guidelines will allow you to take advantage of the Lazord Fellowship.

(1) To join a local partner institution, fill out the online application form for the institution.

(2) Fill out the application with:

  • Self-descriptive information.
  • involvement and leadership in civic activities in the past.
  • List of awards and honors you have received.
  • Describe yourself in one paragraph.
  • Statement of Purpose minimum of 800 words, maximum of 1500 words about a social cause (economic, political, social, or cultural) that you care about and your theory of change.
  • Passport that is in good standing (Optional).
