An additional demonstration against the Glazer family is planned by supporters of Manchester United prior of their Premier League match versus Newcastle.
The most recent information from the Manchester United fan group The 1958 has been distributed in advance of a planned protest against the Glazer family, which is scheduled to take place prior to the beginning of this weekend's match against Newcastle United.
In August, approximately 10,000 supporters demonstrated against the Glazers before Manchester United's 2-1 victory over Liverpool. During the demonstration, fans voiced their dissatisfaction with the American owners of the club.
Even though Manchester United has recently seen an upturn in results on the pitch, fans are adamant that they will continue to voice their anger at the Glazer family. The protest that will take place on Sunday has been gaining momentum for some time. The most recent rumors of a takeover bid from British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe had increased the support behind the most recent protests, with fans hoping that the Glazers will finally relinquish control over the club.
The 1958 fan group has just now published a new update in the form of a "rallying call," using social media to lay out their plans for the upcoming demonstration.
Alongside an updated schedule for the day, they published the following message on their website: "UPDATE ON THE PROTESTS GOING ON IN NEWCASTLE We will begin our march on Sunday at 1pm. To the max! Be loud. Join Together! The demonstrations are having an effect. The activities that are currently being carried out by the club are evidence that our efforts are having an effect. We do not stop! Please feel free to share and retweet, and we'll see you on Sunday! Keep believing ".
Even though it took them until the 93rd minute to score with what was their 34th attempt of the match, Erik ten Hag's team was victorious in their Europa League match against Omonia Nicosia during the midweek. This weekend, Ten Hag will be hoping that the atmosphere inside Old Trafford can help spur his players on against Newcastle, just as it did back in August when they played Liverpool.
