If everything goes according to plan, De Gea will join the likes of Denis Irwin, Wayne Rooney, Gary Neville, Sir Bobby Charlton, Paul Scholes, and Ryan Giggs on the list of Manchester United players who have made 500 appearances for the club on Sunday when he starts the game against Newcastle.
During his 11-year tenure at Old Trafford, the Spaniard has amassed 169 clean sheets and won four trophies, including the Premier League, the Europa League, the FA Cup, and the League Cup. As a result, he has become a fan favorite at Old Trafford and has become extremely popular among the club's supporter base.
De Gea is the only player in United's history to have won the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award more than once.
