Criteria for Acceptance into the IMPACT Scholarship Program at UCL
Applicants must demonstrate that they meet each of the following criteria in order to be considered for the IMPACT Scholarship at UCL for a Master's in Public Health:
Applicants are required to have personal experience with discrimination. This may include, but is not limited to, experiences of inequality owing to poverty, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, carer obligations, adverse childhood experiences, social exclusion, or disability. However, this is not restricted to these categories.
satisfies the requirements for entry into the online Master of Public Health program at UCL (MPH).
have applied to enroll in the Master of Public Health (MPH) program at UCL, beginning in the 2022–2023 academic year.
It is required that you display good academic and research talents.
A commanding command of the English language is required.
The Criteria for Selection
The selection of recipients for the scholarship is based on a comprehensive set of criteria that evaluates applicants and includes the following:
how their personal experiences with discrimination (whether it be related to income, race, gender, sexual orientation, carer duties, poor childhood experiences, social exclusion, or disability) have influenced them and their motivation to pursue a degree in public health.
why they should be awarded a scholarship to participate in the Master of Public Health program and how it will be to their individual advantage to do so.
how they plan to use their knowledge of inequality, as well as the benefits of the scholarship and the MPH, to make a positive impact on the health of populations in the course of their professional lives in the future.
Each application will be evaluated and given a separate score by a panel consisting of two raters. The combined or average score from all of the evaluators will be used to rank the candidates. The two applicants who finished in first and second place, respectively, will be recommended for scholarships.
Procedures for Making Applications
Instructions for Applying: Individuals who are interested in applying for the IMPACT Scholarship at UCL 2022 must submit an online application on or before the application deadline.
The deadline for applications is June 30 at 11:59 pm British Summer Time (BST).
