Dyche claims that the remaining four matches for Everton are life or death decisions

Sean Dyche has acknowledged that in Everton's final four games, lives are on the line, and he plans to bring back the club's "core values" regardless of whether it stays in the Premier League.

With an outing to high-flying Brighton on Monday and Manchester City's visit to Goodison Park the following Sunday, Everton will have a difficult assignment to get themselves away from the relegation zone. The league Everton plays in the following season will have an impact on the futures of a number of international players, notably Jordan Pickford and Amadou Onana. However, Dyche acknowledges that the effects of relegation and the duty to prevent it are more pervasive.

"The next four matches not only affect people's futures, but also their lives and livelihoods," he declared. Football is that. The difficulty lies there. The truth is that. Although that is the present situation, it is our task to build a new one.

The Everton manager admits that this summer's reconstruction work must be done regardless of the division the club is in, even though his only attention is on the club's next four games.

There are some fundamental principles for how a club should run, and they are unrelated to the divisional strategy. It ought to be running that way, end of story. That is what I think. That is what I intend to gradually develop. We must immediately win enough games.

To move the club in the proper path, the whole structure must be shaped by the greater picture. We cannot simply say, "Oh, we stayed up again." That doesn't constitute construction. That is simply existing. We don't want to exist merely to survive. We wish to develop. That is a totally different game.

"The difficulties, the noise, and the hostility around the club have been around for a long time, and it was well known before I arrived here. It cannot be changed in a single instant. Although there is a lot of work to be done and a lot happening behind the scenes, the outcomes are still the most important thing right now. We must finish the task at hand, enter the summer, and then begin the major initiatives. But right now, the games are what matter, so that is the emphasis.

Meanwhile After leading Burnley to victory in the second-tier Division and advancement to the Premier League, Vincent Kompany has also extended his contract with the team until 2028, the club announced on Sunday.

Burnley won the Championship with two games remaining last month, securing promotion when the team made a one-season comeback to the top division.

According to former Manchester City and Belgium defender Kompany, "Burnley and Turf Moor were right pretty much from the start, so it also looks right to sign for the next five years." Together with the supporters, we have turned Turf Moor back into a fortress. We continue to look to the future the days ahead and the task of improving Burnley one step at a time.

On Monday, Burnley will play a last home game versus Cardiff City and receive the championship trophy after the game.

"We are thrilled Vincent has agreed to a new contract. He is the ideal fit for how we all envision the future of Burnley Football Club, according to Alan Pace, the club's chairman. "A remarkable leader, raising the bar constantly and guiding our club to the heights we all aspire to."

Due to Burnley's success, JJ Watt, a former NFL player, and his wife Kealia Watt, a former US international soccer player, have both made fresh investments.
