Atiku praises Dangote on the occasion of the opening of Africa's largest petroleum refinery.

Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president, has praised Aliko Dangote, chairman of the Dangote Group, for the opening of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals in Lagos State.

On Monday, President Muhammadu Buharicommissioned the largest single-train petroleum refinery in the world.

In a lengthy post on his verified Twitter account on Monday evening, the former vice president Atiku Abubakar stated that the Dangoterefinery is opening at a time when government-owned refineries have been dormant for many years.

Atiku stated that the new refinery has validated his position that business people should conduct business while the government maintains its role of fostering a thriving business environment.

The PDP leader added that the new refinery will provide enormous benefits in terms of employment, petroleum supply and availability, foreign exchange earnings and savings, and tax revenue.
