Udemy, an online learning platform, has compiled a Global Workplace Learning Index in which it analyzes its course consumption to determine which skills are most in demand by businesses.
The index revealed that ChatGPT was the leading global tech skill for businesses in the first quarter of 2023, with a 4,419% increase in global topic consumption since the fourth quarter of 2022.

Other AI-centric skills, such as Azure Machine Learning (281% growth) and AI art generation (239% growth), also saw significant increases, propelling them into the top 10 global tech skills.
This information was compiled by comparing the consumption of Udemy Business courses from the fourth quarter of 2022 to the first quarter of 2023.
