The finest AI chatbot: ChatGPT, Bing Chat, or Google Bard?

Artificial intelligence chatbots are more popular than ever, but how do you determine which one is the best?

In recent months, artificialintelligence has transformed how we work and play, empowering nearly anyone to write code, create artwork, and even make investments. Professionals and amateurs alike can use generative AI tools, such as ChatGPT, to generate decent-quality content in response to a straightforward prompt.

In light of Microsoft's addition of GPT-4 to Bing, OpenAI's addition of Bing to ChatGPT, and Bard's development of PaLM 2, keeping up with the most recent AI tools is, to say the least, challenging. It's difficult to determine which of the three most popular AI chatbots is best for writing code, generating text, or assisting with the creation of resumes, so we'll highlight the most significant distinctions so you can choose the one that best suits your requirements.

Putting ChatGPT, Bing Chat, and Google Bard to the test.

To determine which AI chatbot provides the most accurate responses, I will use a straightforward question to compare the three:

This week, I consumed three mangoes. "How many oranges do I still have?"

The correct answer is five, as the number of oranges I consumed last week has no bearing on the number of oranges I have today, which is what we are asking the three algorithms. ChatGPT is first up.

You must utilize ChatGPT if...

1. You wish to use the most well-known AI chatbot.

ChatGPT was developed by OpenAI and made available for preview in November of last year. Since then, the AI chatbot has acquired more than 100 million users, with the website alone receiving 1.8 billion monthly visitors. It's been at the center of controversies, particularly as people discover its potential to complete schoolwork and replace some employees.

Since its publication, I have consistently tested ChatGPT. Its user interface has remained straightforward, but modest enhancements, such as the addition of a copy button and simplified account access, have made it significantly better.

Despite the fact that ChatGPT has proven to be a useful AI tool, it is susceptible to inaccuracies. GPT-3.5, like other large language models (LLMs), is imprecise because it was trained on human-created data through the year 2021. In our example math query, it incorrectly answered that we have two oranges remaining when we should have five.

2. You are willing to pay additional fees for an upgrade.

OpenAI grants registered users free access to ChatGPT, which is fueled by the GPT-3.5 model. Access to GPT-4 costs $20 per month if you are willing to pay for the Plus version.

In comparison to all other AI chatbots, GPT-4 is the largest LLM accessible for use. GPT-4 has more than 100 trillion parameters, whereas GPT-3.5 has 175 billion. With more parameters, the model is essentially trained on more data, which increases its likelihood of providing accurate responses to queries.

As an example, the GPT-4 model, which is accessible through a ChatGPT Plus subscription, correctly answered the arithmetic question because it comprehended the entire context of the problem.

Bing Chat is a great method to access GPT-4 for free, as it has been integrated into the new Bing interface.

You must utilize Bing Chat if...

1. You desire generative AI with web access

Bing now has a chat option that formats search results as a conversation with an AI chatbot, as opposed to ChatGPT, which is limited to being an AI tool that generates text in a conversational manner with information leading up to 2021.

There are further advantages. Bing Chat is powered by GPT-4, the largest language model developed by OpenAI, and it is entirely free to use.

Bing Chat's user interface is not as intuitive as ChatGPT's, but it is simple to use.

Though Bing Chat can access the internet to provide you with more up-to-date results than ChatGPT, I've observed that it is more likely to delay in responding and neglect prompts than its rival.

2. You favor more visual elements

Microsoft has introduced visual features to Bing Chat that are absent from both ChatGPT and Google Bard as a result of recent platform upgrades. You can now ask Bing questions like 'what is a bush baby?' and receive an information card with photos, expectancy, diet, and more in response.

When using Bing in chat mode, you can also request that the search engine construct an image for you.

Provide Bing with a description of the desired image, and the chatbot will generate four options from which you can choose.

Bing Chat also offers various conversational approaches, such as Creative, Balanced, and Precise, that affect how light or straightforward the interactions are.

Finally, let's examine Google Bard, which employs a different LLM and will shortly receive significant enhancements.

Google Bard should be utilized if...

1. You want a quick and limitless experience

Throughout my time evaluating various AI chatbots, I've witnessed Google Bard receive a great deal of criticism for various deficiencies. I won't say they're unwarranted, but I will say that Google's artificial intelligence chatbot has some benefits, including efficiency.

Google Bard is quick with its answers, even if it occasionally provides incorrect ones. It is not as quick as ChatGPT Plus, but it may provide results faster than Bing and the free GPT-3.5 version of ChatGPT, though your mileage may vary.

Initially, it appeared that Bard would answer our math query correctly. However, it made the same error as other bots by adding the formula 5 - 3 = 2.

Unlike Bing Chat, Bard does not restrict the number of responses. Google Bard allows for lengthy dialogues, whereas Bing limits conversations to 20 replies. Even ChatGPT Plus prohibits users from sending more than 25 communications every three hours.

2. You desire a more 'Google' experience

During its I/O conference, Google announced numerous AI-related updates, including its intentions to power both Bard and its primary search engine. Bard is being upgraded to PaLM 2, the most recent and most robust version of Google's LLM, which was announced at the event.

PaLM 2 will help Bard support more than one hundred languages in the future, as well as enhance its coding, debugging, and math skills significantly. However, ChatGPT reportedly supports more than eighty languages at present.

Google intends to add more visual elements to its Bard platform than Bing conversation. Soon, users will be able to upload photos via an integration with Google Lens, image generation via Adobe Firefly, and extensions for Kayak, OpenTable, Instacart, and Wolfram Alpha.

Google intends to implement these changes in the coming months, despite the fact that they are not yet live.
