In Aso Rock, President Tinubu meets with Asari Dokubo.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently meeting with a former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo, behind closed doors.

The President conferred with the ex-militant leader in his office at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The meeting's details and agenda were unknown at the time this report was filed.

Dokubo is widely recognized as one of the President's most vocal supporters during the election campaigns.

It is believed that meeting with Dokubo will be a part of the President's ongoing consultations with opinion leaders from the Niger Delta region of the country.

Oil larceny will be eradicated as part of the Tinubu administration's strategy to increase oil and gas production, which is one of its primary economic objectives.

Earlier in the week, the President met with other prominent figures from the region, such as former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Chief Timi Alaibe and former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Dr Dakuku Peterside.
