According to her, she married a Nigerian man from the state of Kogi and had three children with him. However, while she was expectant with her fourth child, her mother arrived from Cameroon with distressing news of her father's terminal illness and urged her to bring her children to see their grandfather before he passed away.

The woman's husband instructed her to take their youngest child with her, leaving Mercy Johnson and Martin Ngei with their father and another woman.

She has tirelessly sought for her children for over three decades, frequently traveling to Nigeria, but her efforts have been in vain.

Eventually, she located Mercy Johnson and shares her tale with her. The actress requested a DNA test to confirm the woman's claims.

The woman agreed and went to the hospital, where she met Prince Okojie, Mercy's spouse. To her dismay, Mercy's spouse denied knowing her and insisted that she was not the woman for whom he had paid the bride price.

She clarified her intentions by assuring the prince that she had no desire to steal his wife from him. Although he agreed to pay for the DNA test, he insisted she handle her own costs.

The woman felt humiliated by this request, as she had already spent her entire budget on transportation to Nigeria.

She emphasized her independence by stating that financial gain was not her motivation, as she had been able to support herself throughout the years.

She also revealed that Mercy's given name is Ngei Magdalene and that she was born in 1982. She expressed her appreciation for Mercy's invitation to Nigeria and her willingness to submit to a DNA test. However, she disclosed that she is currently unable to find a residence in Nigeria.

“I gave birth to her at a private hospital in Benue state. She is aware that I am her biological mother and she knows that Mercy Johnson is not her real name. In fact when I came to Nigeria she asked me what’s my real name and I told her,” the woman said.
