ONANA: I DEMAND A LOT FROM MY TEAM-MATES

Following the Reds' 3-2 loss to Borussia Dortmund in Las Vegas, Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana insists he expects the same quality of play from every single teammate.

Andre Onana is a Cameroonian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Serie A club Inter Milan and the Cameroon national team. He is considered to be one of the best young goalkeepers in the world.

Onana began his career at Barcelona, where he played for the youth teams before making his first-team debut in 2015. He was loaned to Dutch club Ajax in 2016, and he quickly established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the Eredivisie. In 2018, he was named the Dutch Goalkeeper of the Year.

Onana's performances for Ajax attracted the attention of many top clubs, and he joined Inter Milan in 2022. However, he was banned from playing for 12 months in February 2021 after he tested positive for a banned substance. He served his ban in 2022, and he made his Inter Milan debut in March 2022.

Onana is a tall and athletic goalkeeper with excellent reflexes and shot-stopping ability. He is also good with his feet, and he is able to distribute the ball effectively. He is a commanding presence in the penalty area, and he is known for his ability to make saves under pressure.

Onana is a key player for both Inter Milan and the Cameroon national team. He is expected to be one of the best goalkeepers in the world for many years to come.

In addition to his footballing ability, Onana is also a well-spoken and intelligent individual. He is a role model for young players, and he is committed to using his platform to raise awareness of social issues.

In 2020, Onana was involved in a controversy when he tested positive for a banned substance. He claimed that he had accidentally taken a pill that was meant for his wife, and he was subsequently banned from playing for 12 months.

Onana's ban was a setback for his career, but he has since bounced back. He has made a number of impressive saves for Inter Milan, and he is now considered to be one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

Onana is a talented and promising goalkeeper who has the potential to be one of the best in the world. He is a key player for Inter Milan and the Cameroon national team, and he is sure to be a regular in the years to come.

Following the Reds' 3-2 loss to Borussia Dortmund in Las Vegas, Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana insists he expects the same quality of play from every single teammate.

With goals from Diogo Dalot and Antony, Erik ten Hag's squad terminated our Tour 2023 efforts in the United States with a narrow defeat at the hands of the Bundesliga side.

Onana, who replaced Tom Heaton at halftime and played the second half, reflected on his second appearance for United, insisting that the level of commitment and concentration he expects from his teammates should be shared by the entire squad.

‘’I demand a lot of my team-mates because also they demand a lot, they trust in me,'' he told MUTV, following the game in Nevada.

‘’They play a lot of balls back to me, so I have to give them confidence and I want my players to give them to me to give me confidence.

‘’I demand [from] them a lot and I will demand from them a lot because they are great players. Now, for me, it's a big honour to play with these defenders.

‘’With [Lisandro] Martinez, Harry [Maguire] they are doing great things. They are important players for the club. I'm very happy to be part of this team and playing with them is something great.’’

Erik has utilised the opportunity to give most of his players adequate time on the pitch so far this summer, with a total of 22 players used across the 90 minutes at the Allegiant Stadium against Edin Terzic's side.

Seen barking instructions to defender Harry Maguire during the second half, Andre admitted those type of interactions are obviously just part and parcel of the game, further stating how his relationship with the experienced defender is already developing well.

‘’I try to talk to them a lot because I know he's a good player, he is one of the captains of the the team,'' began Andre when speaking about the England international.

‘’That’s big and he is good with the ball, so I would demand [from] him a lot and he’s a good, great guy. I have a good relationship with him. I have to be and he has to be ready and I spoke with him because when I'm in the goal, I demand to everyone a lot.

‘’I will start with myself because I think we are in this together and mistakes will come," he added. "We don't have to be afraid to make mistakes because this is part of life and we learn from the mistakes.

‘’So we have to be very critical with ourselves. And if we want to win prizes, we have to demand a lot. And for me, it's a big honour to be here and I'm very happy to work with these guys, Harry is a top guy and a fantastic player. We will move on.’
